Business Gift Giving Guide

It’s that time of year again. The holiday season officially starts this week and the start of the holiday shopping season starts on Friday.    To make your shopping easier, I have put together a list of some of the more innovative gifts to thank loyal customers for their business in a memorable way.  These gifts are also great for your boss or just the busy, working professional in your life – you know, the ones who “have everything”.

Business books are always a great gift.  Order them directly from the author’s website and you can usually get them not only signed, but personalized!

Shameless promotion: “Common Things Uncommon Ways” by Sunny Kobe Cook. Perfect for any small business owner.

Just released:  “Secrets of Self-Starters” by Dr. Julie Miller. 42 inspiring profiles of successful people in all areas of business, both profit and non-profit.

“Give your Elevator Speech a Lift” by Lorraine Howell

If someone on your gift list needs to network to promote their business, this popular guide will make networking easier and more effective.

Know someone who didn’t go to or graduate from college? I’m in that group.  So are a large percentage of VERY successful people in all areas of business.  Give inspiration…or absolution to someone you know without a college degree.  I liked the book so well, I married the author!

“Success Without a College Degree” by John T. Murphy

Do you know a woman who would like to make friends with money?  Money is an issue for many people.  Marcia Brixey has been educating women about fiscal responsibility for years through her Money Wise Women seminars.  Her book, “The Money Therapist” is the perfect gift for anyone concerned about their long-term financial future.

Want something other than a book?  Here are a couple of great ideas:

Do you have a woman on your gift list?  Handbags, computer bags and briefcases are too challenging to buy for business women; we are very loyal to styles, brands or specific features.  But every woman wants organization and the ability to easily move from handbag to briefcase to gym bag and the BagMate handbag organizer is perfect! All your items are stored in easy to access pockets, the bright colors make it easy to spot essentials and the retractable handle makes the bag switch fast and easy.

Wine is often a popular gift for client gifts.  The challenge is knowing the customers taste well enough to make an appropriate selection.  Often we just buy based on price in an effort to “be safe”.  Why not send or give variety?

At tastingroom.com you get small-bottle flights from winemakers in Napa, Sonoma, Williamette and Paso Robles.  Put together your own sampler or buy one of the ones listed on the gift page and have it delivered right to their door.

So make your list and check it twice then get on your computer and do your holiday shopping on line from the comfort of your own home.  Pajamas and glass of wine optional!
